Anti-windup strategy for reset control systems

چکیده
This paper proposes an anti-windup strategy to deal with stability and performance requirements for a class of hybrid systems, such as those including a reset controller and subject to input saturation. The computation of the anti-windup compensator aiming at ensuring both L2 input-to-state stability and internal stability of the closed-loop system is carried out from the solution of matrix inequalities. Depending on the way chosen to describe reset rules, the conditions for designing the anti-windup compensator are expressed through nonlinear matrix inequalities or linear matrix inequalities. Some optimization criteria in both cases are considered for the synthesis purpose: maximization of the L2-norm upper bound on the admissible disturbances for which the trajectories are assured to be bounded; minimization of the L2-gain of the disturbance to the system to-be-controlled output; and the maximization of an estimate of the domain of attraction of the origin.

A method for PID controller tuning based on process models for series cascaded control systems using anti-reset windup technique is proposed in this paper. Closed loop response is obtained using auto tuning of PID controller. This method can be applied to any closed loop stable processes. Closed loop responses of series cascade control loops tuned by the proposed anti-reset windup technique met...
متن کاملRobust Anti-Windup Control Design for PID Controllers–Theory and Experimental Verification
This paper addresses an approximation-based anti-windup (AW) control strategy for suppressing the windup effect caused by actuator saturation nonlinearity in proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controlled systems. The effect of actuator constraint is firstly regarded as a disturbance imported to the PID controller. The external disturbance can then be modeled by a linear differential equatio...

متن کاملDynamic anti-windup design for a class of nonlinear systems
This work addresses the dynamic anti-windup design problem for a class of nonlinear systems subject to actuator saturation. The considered class regards the systems that can be cast in a differentialalgebraic representation (DAR), such as rational and polynomial systems. Considering that a nonlinear dynamic output feedback controller, which can also be written as a DAR, has been designed to sta...
متن کاملAnti-windup compensation for systems with sensor saturation: a study of architecture and structure
This paper proposes a linear dynamic anti-windup strategy for the alleviation of performance and stability problems in systems which are linear apart from saturating sensors. Unlike anti-windup compensation for systems subject to actuator saturation, there is no agreed architecture for applying anti-windup to systems with sensor saturation and therefore attention is devoted to the discussion of...
